As you know, wine does not keep well, rapidly losing its flavors and aromas once the bottle is opened. That can be annoying and expensive if you can't enjoy an entire bottle in an evening. Other wine preserver systems have attempted to solve this problem, but the Wine Doctor goes them one better. The Wine Doctor creates a partial vacuum in an opened wine bottle, extracting the excess oxygen that diminishes wine flavor and aroma. The Wine Doctor has put a lot of engineering into its Intelli-Stoppers. These bottle stoppers have three airtight o-rings, an interior check valve and, best of all, a vacuum-level indicator that shows you when you've acheived the optimum vacuum level, and when that level needs to be restored.

The Intelli-Stopper goes in the bottle, and the Wine Doctor vacuum pump extracts the air from the bottle through the stopper with a few quick strokes. When the built-in red indicator in the Intelli-Stopper disappears, you've sealed the bottle the right way. If the red indicator shows up later, it's time to drink the wine or pump again and restore the vacuum.
