This cherry pitter is the canner and pie baker's friend. When you're pitting a lot of cherries, the hand-held pitters can be carpal-tunnel-syndrom-inducing. This efficient pitter clamps to your counter or work table and pits a cherry every time you push on the spring-loaded plunger. Load cherries in the tray, gravity feeds them one at a time to the catcher under the plunger. Push the plunger and the pit drops into the collection box while the pitted cherry rolls down the chute into your waiting bowl. A "C" clamp that mounts to the edge of your counter or table holds the pitter firmly in place.
