The Slicester is another thoughtful, useful improvement on a basic kitchen tool, in this case the cheese slicer, from our friends at Chef'n. The Slicester lets you cut uniform slices of almost any kind of cheese, in your choice of three thicknesses, with just one hand. First, turn the little rotary knob on the side to adjust the Slicester to the thickness of your choice. Then, hold the Slicester vertically, with the roller flush against the end of your block of cheese, and press down on the comfy, oversized handle. The stainless-steel cutting blade cuts hard cheese as well as soft; the holes in the blade reduce sticking when cutting softer cheeses. We've tried the Slicester and it works really well; the one-hand operation is a snap and the slices are uniform one to another, and even in thickness from end to end.
