Gat Creek DYO Extension Dining Table 36 x 70 (10202-SCHY) Don't look at the picture above. Because DYO stands for Design Your Own Gat Creek table, and the picture you see above is just a starting point, just one of many ways your DYO table could look. Each DYO table is hand-made out of solid Applachian cherry by a single craftsman at the Gat Creek factory in West Virginia. Each table is built to order; you can choose a width of from 36" to 52", and a length (before the leaf is added) of from 60" to 100". The leaf measures 20" and an additional 20" leaf is an extra-cost option. Then, you choose any of six edge treatments for the top, one of four choices for the corners, and any of eight leg styles. Finally, there is the choice of 10 Gat Creek finishes, ranging from a ckearr natural to a dark, distressed finish. As you can see, there are hundreds and hundreds of combinations; it's a great way to get a table that's truly yours. And the prices are terrific, ranging from $1,465.80 for a 36" x 60" table, to $2,165.10 for a 52" x 100" table. An additional second leaf adds $300.00 to the price.
We are very pleased to offer solid-cherry dining furniture from Gat Creek. Gat Creek is a family-owned business in West Virginia, committed to excellence in woodworking; each piece of Gat Creek furniture is bench-made and proudly signed by a single craftsman. There are no assembly lines and no mass production; each piece is built to order. You can order Gat Creek cherry furniture in your choice of 10 finishes, 5 each in classic and distressed, ranging from natural to quite dark. Most of the pieces you'll see here and in our stores are in the Seasoned disressed finish, the lightest of the distressed options.
Each hand-made piece is built from Appalachian cherry; in fact 95% of the materials that go into Gat Creek furniture come from within a 350-mile radius of the factory. Gat Creek has won numerous design and environmental awards, and works exclusively with domestic hardwoods that are harvested from the Appalachian forests by suppliers that meet strict state and national standards for land and timber management. Gat Creek works vigilantly to reduce energy usage and they formally track 100% of their waste streams, monitoring everything coming into and going out of the factory, from wood to water to AA batteries, to assure all materials are used wisely and disposed of properly. These efforts have allowed Gat Creek to reduce emissions of hazardous air pollutants by 90+% and overall VOC emissions by 40+% to date. |
