The Good Grips egg slicer
is a work of genius. It's cleverly designed to cleanly and neatly do three things to hard-cooked eggs: 1) slice them crosswise for round slices, 2) slice them lengthwise for oval slices, and 3) slice them both ways one after the other for chopped eggs. Just the thing for real egg heads!
The secret is the rotating base that lets you to position the egg for either type of slicing. Simply turn the base 90 degrees one way or the other; it snaps into place for either round or oval slices. Then push down on the spring-loaded top to put the 10 slicing wires to work.
For chopped eggs, first slice one way, then rotate the base and slice the egg in the other direction. The Good Grips egg slicer is amazingly precise in its action, eggs are chopped and sliced neatly and cleanly with little waste or debris as the egg is cradled both from below and above.
